    Jordan tourism revenue is expected to reach JOD 2.9 billion by 2022

    By the end of 2022, Jordan’s tourism revenue could reach JOD 2.9 billion, with almost JOD1.5 billion in the first half. Nayef Fayez, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, represented Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince. He attended the ceremony of Madaba being named the Arab Tourism Capital for 2022. Fayez said the Ministry worked under difficult circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic to realize His Majesty King Abdullah II’s vision and fulfill its mandate to breathe life into tourism, and estimates suggest tourism revenue may exceed JOD2.9 billion.

The governor said, “Today, Madaba is one of the most prominent governorates on the Jordanian, Arab and international tourism map. God has blessed it with a special location and diversity of climate and terrain which made it a center for the origin of many civilizations, leaving us a history that is everywhere to observe.”
